Terms
You pay after you have seen what you are buying. Until then you owe us nothing, and after that you can still change your mind until it is delivered.

What you are buying
One private browser game, built from the messages a group of people wrote for one person, delivered by a private link. Standard is $24 and holds up to 15 contributors across three acts. Premium is $39 and holds up to 30 contributors across five rooms. One payment per quest, however many people take part.
The order, step by step
- You pay once and get a private organiser link. You paste the names and addresses; invitations and reminders go out automatically.
- People write messages, and may add a photo or a voice note. They need no account.
- Every contribution goes through an automatic content check. What it finds clean goes into the show; what it is unsure about waits for you. You read everything and can take any contribution out or ask for a change.
- You play the whole show yourself first. Then you confirm you have read every message and press one button; that gives you the link to hand over. If you do nothing, we finish the show on the deadline and email you the link.
- Nothing reaches the receiver until you hand over the link, or until the delivery date you set yourself.
If it never gets that far, ask for your money back before delivery and you get all of it.
Refunds
Before delivery: all of it back, no questions.
Ask any time before the game reaches the receiver and you get the full amount back. No form, no reason, no deduction. In practice this is automatic and takes minutes, not days.
After delivery: only if something was actually wrong.
Once someone has opened their present we cannot take it back, so a no-questions refund stops there. If the game was broken, arrived late, or was not what you approved, tell us and you get the full amount back. We do not deduct anything for our time.
If you forget about it.
If a paid quest sits untouched for 30 days we email you a refund offer without being asked. An unsent present is not something we want to keep money for.
What we do not promise
- We do not guarantee the game plays on every device. It is built for current browsers on phones, tablets and computers. Old devices, locked-down company laptops and networks that block games can all stop it working, and some of those are outside anything we control. If the receiver cannot play it, you get your money back — that is the promise instead.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Things go down. Links keep working while a quest exists; a quest is deleted 90 days after delivery and the link stops then, by design.
- We do not promise a reaction. How the receiver feels is not something anyone can sell you.
- We do not check whether the messages are true, kind or fair. The automatic check catches contact details and abuse; the rest is the organiser's job, which is why the final confirmation exists.
What you are responsible for
- Who you share the contribution link with. Anyone holding it can write.
- Reading every contribution before you hand the link over. The automatic check is a filter, not a judge; you are the gate.
- Having a reason to think the receiver would want this. Do not use it to target someone.
- Keeping the delivered link to the people it is meant for.
Contributors keep whatever rights they have in what they wrote. By adding a message they allow us to put it in that one game and show it to the organiser and the receiver, and nowhere else. We do not reuse anyone's words in marketing.
Photo and voice: your explicit permission
A photo or a voice note is optional, and only used with your consent.
You can add one photo and one voice recording of up to 30 seconds. You do not have to. Before either is uploaded you tick a box that says, in plain words, that you agree we may store it and show it inside this one game to the organiser and the receiver. That tick is your explicit consent, and it is the only thing we use your photo or voice for.
You can take your consent back at any time by writing to [email protected] or asking the organiser to remove your contribution. Your photo and voice note are then deleted, and in any case they are deleted with everything else 90 days after the game is delivered. We never use them to identify you, we do not run face or voice recognition on them, and we never use them anywhere outside your game.
Content we will not carry
Set out in full on the prohibited content page. In short: no personal contact details, nothing sexually explicit, no hate, no threats, no encouragement of crime, no doxxing. We may remove a contribution or stop a whole quest for that reason, and if we stop a quest you have paid for, you get the full amount back.
Privacy and keeping things
We collect the organiser's email address, contributors' first names, and the receiver's email address only when a delivery is scheduled. Everything is deleted automatically 90 days after delivery, or sooner if you ask. We do not sell data, and a quest is never indexed by a search engine. The privacy page says the rest.
Changes, and the boring end
If these terms change, the version you agreed to when you paid is the version that applies to your order. We will not change the refund rules underneath an order that is already running.
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, where Thoughts in Action BV is established. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence: where that law gives you more, it applies. Disputes may be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands, or, if you are a consumer, the court of your own country where the law allows.
